  • State Chair

    Tanner Elliott

    Tanner Elliott is the newly elected chair of the Young Republicans of Oregon. He is currently the Legislative Director for Senator David Brock Smith. Tanner has extensive experience managing campaigns and working in the State Legislature. Originally Tanner is from eastern Oregon and he is a 5th generation Oregonian. He grew up in John Day where he learned the values of hard work and grit. He spends his free time hiking, going to the Oregon Coast, traveling, cheering for the Portland Trail Blazers, Oregon Ducks, and Green Bay Packers, and spending time with his friends and family.

  • Vice Chair

    Chris Gray

    Chris Gray joined the Young Republicans of Oregon after seeing the destructive government policies affecting all business operations across the state. Throughout his time in the YRO, Chris assisted his local county as its social media chair, was an assistant to a state representative candidate, and was elected a delegate to the 2024 RNC. In Chris’s free time, Chris body builds, studies history, plays video games, and is a wine expert.

    State Secretary

    Andrew (Andy) Huwe

    Andy, the youngest Executive Team member, is a 7th generation Oregonian whose family came to Oregon on the Oregon Trail. Andy’s Family helped found most of the Mid-Columbia River Gorge, and some Counties in Eastern Oregon. Andy has been involved in Oregon State Politics since 2018. He previously worked in the State Capitol for Representative Bobby Levy, and was the Director of Political Affairs for the Associated Students of Eastern Oregon University. 

    Andy Is a Student at Eastern Oregon University Studying Cyber Security and Politics, Policy, & Public Administration.

  • State Treasurer

    Alex McHaddad

    Alex started working with YRO in January 2021 when he helped moderate a debate for the Oregon Republican Party leadership elections. While concurrently serving as the Treasurer of the Oregon Republican Party from 2022-2023 as one of the youngest statewide party leaders in America, he engineered the financial architecture that broke Democratic supermajorities in Salem and secured Oregon's second Republican Congressional seat in 30 years. He previously served as the youngest County GOP Chair in Oregon, leading Union County Republicans, and is currently the second youngest city manager in Oregon.

    Calvin Bennett

    Calvin Bennett is the Chief of Staff for Representative Gregory Smith in the Oregon State Legislature and is on the Dorchester Conference Board. Calvin has managed multiple campaigns ranging from his hometown in Eastern Oregon all the way to the Portland Metro. He is also an alumnus of Eastern Oregon University and is the imminent past President of the Associated Students of Eastern Oregon University. In his free time Calvin takes up hiking, sports shooting, bodybuilding, and cheering for the Portland Trail Blazers.

  • National Committeewoman

    Isabella Correa

    Born and raised in Hood River, Isabella has a rural perspective on Oregon politics in one of the bluest counties. As a sixth generation Oregonian, her love for Oregon is rooted in her family’s pioneer history. Isabella graduated from OSU with a degree in Business Administration. As the youngest Republican PCP in her county party, she has worked on numerous campaigns and committees and Chairs the NextGen Media Committee. In her free time, Isabella likes to bake, garden, dance, and talk political strategy. She just cannot turn it off.

    Michael Sewell

    Michael Sewell graduated from law school in 2022 and currently works for a law firm in Salem, Oregon. Michael currently serves on a Housing Authority Board of Commissioners and previously served as a volunteer firefighter. In his free time, Michael is a saxophonist, a licensed skydiver, and an avid motorcyclist.

  • Fundraising Chair

    Alex Lopez

    Alex Lopez graduated high school in 2019 and immediately started a Landscaping business that he owned and operated for 4 years before selling it. In 2022 he served as then candidate Chavez-DeRemer's political director and as the RNC's political director for the state of Oregon during the 2022 election cycle. He then went on to serve as Congresswoman Chavez's DeRemer's Deputy District director in 2023. In 2024 Alex was tapped by Congresswoman Chavez-DeRemer to serve as her campaign manager. He now works at the State Capitol as State Senator McLane's Legislative Assistant. In his free time he enjoys golf, cooking, and spending time with his friends and family.
