Today I speak with Yani Amani. He explains how love can bring us together and fear will destroy our communities.
The Young Republicans of Oregon Treasurer, James Hieb, met Yani at the Back the Blue rally on Saturday, August 22nd. Yani was the man Alan Swinney was pointing a gun at in the viral photo. Yani has no hard feelings toward Swinney and says he was just doing what he thought he had to do.
Yani is staying at a couple's house in North Portland after living on the streets for 11 days. The couple is Democrat and are aware of Yani's views, and they still opened their home to him. Let's lead by their example. Political lines should not divide us.
